Taylor Swift reclaims No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Top Artists chart after Encore announcement

The chart movement came after Swift revealed "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore," a deluxe version of the October 2025 album that adds four new songs: "Patient Zero," "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding," and "Babylon." Swift announced the project on Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, writing that the new tracks were "born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made," according to Us Weekly. The four songs were written with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback during a trip to Sweden, where Swift said the trio had gathered to celebrate the original album's success.

"Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs," Swift wrote in the Instagram post, as quoted by Official Charts. The original "Life of a Showgirl" debuted at No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart in October 2025 with 423,000 chart units, the biggest opening week of Swift's career in the UK, according to Official Charts. It also scored the biggest opening week for an international album in the UK this century and became Swift's 14th UK No. 1 album.

The record finished 2025 as the UK's biggest album of the year, with 642,000 combined chart units. The Encore release arrives almost a year after the original album and less than 24 hours after Swift announced the single "Patient Zero," which also drops on Friday, September 25. Beyond the streaming surge, the new songs have already generated fan speculation about Swift's personal life.

E! News reported that "Cleveland!" is a love song to her husband, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a Cleveland native, while "Pink Clouding" expresses regret over a past relationship. Swift and Kelce married in July 2026. The Encore is the latest expansion of an album that has already seen versions titled "So Glamorous Cabaret Version" and "So Punk on the Internet Version," Pitchfork noted.

Since the original release, Swift has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the National Recording Registry, and released the song "I Knew It, I Knew You" for "Toy Story 5."
