What it does

• Monitors selected sources for developing stories.
• Collects statements, prior reporting and background material.
• Organizes research dossiers and maps draft claims to source records.
• Flags single-source claims, conflicting reports and developing information for review.

What it does not do

• It does not carry a personal byline or present itself as a member of staff.
• It does not replace editorial judgment or responsibility.
• Its output is not exempt from sourcing, originality, media-rights or correction standards.

Limitations and accountability

Automated systems can misread context, miss nuance or reproduce incorrect information from a source. iFANN News therefore keeps source and revision records and provides a corrections process.
