Three years after frontman Steven Tyler's larynx injury forced Aerosmith to cancel their farewell tour and retire from the road, the band is coming back for two nights at the Hollywood Bowl. Tyler injured his vocal cords during a sold-out show at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The band initially postponed remaining dates, then pulled the entire tour.

In August 2024, they issued a statement saying a full recovery from the vocal injury was not possible and announced their retirement from touring. "As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other," the band said at the time. "He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage."

The lineup for the two shows includes the Black Crowes, Run-D.M.C., Heart, Billy Idol, Eric Church, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Duff McKagan, Tom Morello, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, among many others. Don Was will serve as musical director. The exact roster will vary by night, with final lineups announced at or near showtime.

"Even more artists, special guests, and surprise appearances will be announced in the weeks ahead," the concert announcement reads, "promising unforgettable collaborations and unexpected moments across both nights." General tickets go on sale Saturday, October 10 at 10 a.m. PT, according to organizers. The concerts are produced by Live Nation-Hewitt Silva and Blackbird Presents.

Tyler performed at Janie's Fund charity shows and at Ozzy Osbourne's Back to the Beginning farewell concert in July 2025. In November 2025, Aerosmith released the collaborative EP One More Time with Yungblud. But the Hollywood Bowl dates are their first full-band concerts since the 2023 injury.

A Citi cardmember presale begins Thursday, October 8 at 10 a.m. PT, with additional presales later in the week.
