Presley Gerber, model son of Cindy Crawford, dies at 27 in rehab facility

The death of Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old model and son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, is being investigated as a suspected overdose, Santa Monica police said on Monday. Gerber died Sunday at a rehabilitation facility, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records. The exact cause of death has not been determined, and police said there was no indication of foul play.

Allie Jenkins, a representative for Crawford and Rande Gerber, told the BBC's US partner CBS News: "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time." In March, he shared on Instagram that he would undergo an ibogaine flood dose, a psychedelic treatment sometimes used for drug addiction, writing that he was "praying it's the last time I have to come back." In a December 2025 Instagram video, Gerber spoke about the medications he was taking and the loss he had experienced.

"I've had a lot of loss in many different forms recently," he said. "That is not an excuse, but it's the reason—or part of—why I am where I'm at now." His sister, model Kaia Gerber, discussed her brother's struggles in the September 2026 issue of Vogue.

"When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone," she said. "I think that's also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing." Presley Gerber was signed by IMG Models at age 15 and made his runway debut in 2016 for Moschino's Resort show in Los Angeles.

He went on to model for brands including Celine, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, and Pepsi, and appeared with his mother in Pepsi's 2018 Super Bowl commercial. In 2019, Gerber was arrested for driving under the influence. He was sentenced to three years' probation, ordered to complete a DUI program, and required to serve two days of community service.

Crawford shared a photo of her son on Instagram in July for his 27th birthday. "I'm so proud of the man you've become, but I'll always remember you as my little boy! Love you," she wrote. Paris Hilton said she was "completely heartbroken" and described Gerber as "a kind and beautiful soul."

Brooklyn Beckham wrote, "Presley, you were the kindest. We're going to miss you so much." Gerber had been open about his struggles with mental health and addiction in recent years.
