Netflix Wraps ‘Wednesday’ Season 3, Shares First Look at Jenna Ortega

Netflix has released the first official image from "Wednesday" Season 3, showing Jenna Ortega back as Wednesday Addams and seated at a typewriter. The photo arrived as the streamer announced that production on the new season has officially wrapped, according to Variety and Deadline. The image offers a side-profile look at Ortega's character, with the typewriter positioned in front of her.

The official Wednesday Addams social media account shared the photo and confirmed the production wrap, according to Yahoo Entertainment. A second image posted by Netflix on Instagram showed Ortega as Wednesday in Paris, with the caption "From Paris, with dread." Filming on the third season began in February 2026 in Ireland, with additional production in France, according to Radio Times and Inside the Magic.

The shoot encountered delays, including script rewrites and an on-set injury to cast member Eva Green in late June 2026. Netflix has not announced a release date for the new episodes. Season 3 will see Wednesday and the other Nevermore Academy students in their senior year, a storyline Ortega says deals with "more confrontational feelings regarding family and what it means to be an adult and what you see for your life," according to Yahoo Entertainment.

The season picks up after Season 2's cliffhanger, in which Enid transforms into a full Alpha werewolf, and follows Wednesday and Uncle Fester as they travel to Paris in search of her. New cast members for the season include Eva Green as Aunt Ophelia, Winona Ryder as Tabitha, Chris Sarandon as Balthazar, Noah Taylor as Cyrus, Oscar Morgan as Atticus, and Kennedy Moyer as Daisy. Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance have also joined in undisclosed roles.

Returning cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, and Joy Sunday, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Radio Times. The first season of "Wednesday" became Netflix's most-watched English-language original series of all time, and Season 2 delivered the biggest TV premiere of 2025 with 50 million views in its first week, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Inside the Magic. Co-creator Miles Millar has said the creative team will "take as many seasons as Netflix wants to give us," even as the senior-year storyline suggests the Nevermore chapter may be nearing its end.
