KATSEYE's Sophia Laforteza to Miss Entire European and UK Leg of Wildworld Tour

HYBE x Geffen Records confirmed that Sophia Laforteza will not join the sold-out Wildworld Tour dates scheduled from September 1 through 17, citing her ongoing focus on well-being. The announcement, posted to the group's official social media accounts, follows Laforteza's temporary hiatus from promotional activities announced earlier in August. "Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed," the label's statement read.

"We sincerely ask for EYEKONS' warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists." The message, signed by HYBE and Geffen Records, also appeared on Weverse and Instagram Stories, according to Billboard. The Wildworld Tour is set to kick off on Tuesday at Dublin's 3Arena, with stops planned for Paris, Amsterdam and Copenhagen, according to Yahoo News.

Laforteza's break was first disclosed on August 7, when HYBE x Geffen said she would step away from promotional activities to prioritize her "mental health and wellness" after consultations with medical professionals. Billboard reported that her condition was expected to be reassessed in September, citing the Los Angeles Times. In her own statement at the time, Laforteza told fans directly: "It truly breaks my heart to have to miss out on a lot. You know how much I love being on stage, performing, and sharing these moments with you. Making this decision wasn't easy, but I'm learning that health has to come first."

The singer offered a further update on her Instagram Story hours after Sunday's announcement, apologizing for missing the tour and revealing she has been in ongoing treatment. "I can't express enough how much i want to participate in this tour and perform for you all," she wrote, according to Yahoo News. "I have to remind myself every day that our health and mental well-being should always be prioritized… I've been in ongoing treatment and doing everything i can to stay healthy, occupied and happy. You can't pour from an empty cup."

Laforteza's mother, actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza, described her daughter's routine during the hiatus to Vogue Philippines, saying she has been keeping busy with low-key activities. "At present, Sophia is on hiatus," she said. "She goes to Disneyland every day; she's baking, she's painting. She's literally doing everything to get mentally well." Manon Bannerman stepped back from activities in February to focus on her health and well-being, and Megan Skiendiel recently sprained her ankle during tour rehearsal, causing KATSEYE to withdraw from Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival.

The remaining members, Lara, Daniela, Yoonchae and Megan, have continued promoting the group's latest music, including a brief appearance at the festival on August 29. The group earned its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August with the EP Wild, which includes the Hot 100 tracks "Pinky Up" and "Gnarly."
